In creating a dog park, we hope to accomplish multiple goals.

1. To establish a completely fenced in, off-lead dog park where well behaved dogs can exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering or annoying other people, property or wildlife.   

2. To develop an aesthetically pleasing, well maintained space, open to all responsible dog lovers who are willing to adhere to the parks rules and restrictions.

3. To view this park as a place designed to satisfy the needs of dog owners and non-dog owners alike.

Further more an area like this would benefit the greater community in the following ways:

1. Such a facility would increase general park utilization and build bonds within the human community.

2. Most dogs require exercise that lead restrictions in other parks do not allow. The Cardiovascular benefit provided by healthy playtime with other dogs is essential for a dog's longevity and weight control. Dogs are social animals whose mental health is improved by interaction with other canines. Happy and healthy dogs are calmer and better behaved, reducing nuisance barking and other annoying behavior's exhibited by un-exercised animals.

3. The park could also act as a venue for other dog related activities such as Ring Craft and Agility Clubs. Also educational programs promoting an improved quality of life for our community dogs, while assisting with the promotion of assuring that our dogs are vaccinated and neutered/spayed. In the long term helping to prevent so many unwanted animals ending up in homes or worse being destroyed.
